SCHMEICHEL is the greatest goalkeeper to grace the game in many people's eyes.
The Dane was snapped up from Brondby for £530,000 – a deal Alex Ferguson later described as "the bargain of the century".
Schmeichel played a massive role in the turning United into perennial title contenders and went out with the biggest bang possible by sealing the historic treble in '99.
