Fabio Capello will pick Wayne Rooney for Euro 2012

WAYNE ROONEY has been told he IS going to Euro 2012 with England.
He is banned for all three group games in Poland and Ukraine after his red card for kicking Montenegro's Miodrag Dzudovic.
But Three Lions coach Fabio Capello is willing to hand the Manchester United star an amazing lifeline by naming him in his squad.
Capello travelled to United's Carrington HQ yesterday to assure Rooney he is still part of his plans for next summer.
But the Italian did tell the 26-year-old he is OUT of the upcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden.
It is a huge boost for Rooney, who had feared he would be exiled for his moment of madness in the final Euro 2012 qualifier last month.
Speaking for the first time about the incident, he said: "It was stupid of me and I regretted it as soon as I did it.
"There was no tackle beforehand and I didn't think 'I'm going to beat him' — it just happened.
"It's my own fault so I can't complain.
"It is no excuse but I still feel the punishment is a bit harsh."
Roo also talked to Capello about an appeal against the length of his ban and Dzudovic has said he will speak up in the striker's defence.
Rooney added: "He sent an email to the FA saying the punishment was too harsh. That's nice because he didn't have to."
