Sao Paulo insist Tottenham target Casemiro will not be sold until 2013 after Inter Milan enquired about his availability.
Inter and their cross-city rivals AC Milan are both chasing the attacking midfielder, who is also on Tottenham's radar following superb displays for club and country.
But Inter were swiftly knocked back by Sao Paulo after they sent officials to Brazil to discuss a possible January deal, according to reports in Italy.
Tottenham hit the jackpot with the £9m signing of Sandro from Internacional in 2010 after the young Brazilian settled straight in at White Hart Lane and is now considered one of the most promising midfielders of his kind in Europe.
But Harry Redknapp will have to look elsewhere for further Brazilian imports with Sao Paulo adamant that Casemiro, 19, will be staying with them until January 2013 at the earliest.
