Cagliari vs Lazio preview - High-flying Lazio look to keep momentum

I have a say

Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma has called upon his team to keep improving as they travel to the Stadio Sant'Elia on Sunday looking to end Cagliari's unbeaten run at home this season.

The Romans had their three-match winning streak brought to a halt in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Catania.

"It's difficult to play every three days and get results," Ledesma said.

"We did well against Catania but we have to keep proving on the pitch that we can do better and that we can have a say in Serie A this season."

Edy Reja's Lazio have collected 14 of a possible 18 points in their last six matches.

They will be aiming for a fourth win on the road on Sunday.

"We are playing well at home and away," Ledesma said. "We have shown great balance at both ends of the pitch and I am confident we can bring home three points from Cagliari."

Cagliari are two points adrift of third-placed Lazio and head into the game on the back of a 1-1 result at Cesena - their third draw in four games.

The Sardinians, who have won three times this season, expect a difficult test against Lazio.

"We face a top team," Cagliari defender Michele Canini said. "Lazio are strong in every department and we will have to be at our best to beat them."

The hosts will once again be without defender Davide Astori and striker Moestafa El Kabir, both out injured.

To complicate matters for Cagliari coach Massimo Ficcadenti, midfielder Daniele Conti must serve a one-match ban.

Reja is expected to limit changes to the side that held Cesena in midweek.

The visitors are without injured pair Giuseppe Biava and Stefano Mauri.
