Agent: Rossi will be ready for Euro 2012

Villarreal and Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi will recover from his cruciate ligament injury in time for Euro 2012, claims agent Federico Pastorello.

Rossi tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Villarreal's 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday, and was later announced to be ruled out for six months.

While the 24-year-old will return from injury before Euro 2012 begins in June, doubts were raised on whether Rossi can regain full match fitness by then.

Rossi's agent, Federico Pastorello was quick to deny claims of the American-born striker missing out in the premiere European international competition.

"There's another six months to go before the end of the season, nearly eight to the tournament, so there is time to recover," Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia. "I can reassure the Italy fans that he will be ready for Euro 2012."

"I spoke to Rossi a couple of times and it was a real surprise how bad the injury is, because after the match he was able to walk without any particular pain," he added.

"However, when he woke up this morning [Thursday], the severity of the problem became clear. He still seemed very determined and calm, as he wants to undergo surgery as soon as possible to begin physiotherapy."
