I have a say

Ajax coach Frank de Boer has voiced his opinion that the Amsterdam giants' poor run of form is the result of a mental problem rather than the consequence of tactical or technical issues.

"Our poor performances are mostly the result of a mental problem in my opinion and don't have anything to do with tactical issues," De Boer was quoted as saying by De Telegraaf.

The reigning Eredivisie champions have not won a league match since its 3-2 win over Heracles on September 10 and have collected only four points from of its last five games.

De Boer spoke with his players on Tuesday to discuss their poor results, and the former Netherlands international is hopeful that they will soon be back on track.

"I know what we're capable of, though, and have a good feeling about the meeting with the players. Everybody got the chance to say how he feels.

"It's hard to find an explanation for our poor run of form, but I'm hopeful that we can get back on track following this meeting."
