Chelsea hit with FA charge after derby defeat

The Football Association has charged Chelsea with failing to control its players during the ill-tempered Premier League match against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
The charge, issued Tuesday, relates to the surrounding of referee Chris Foy following his decision to give a straight red card to right back Jose Bosingwa in the 33rd minute, the first of two sending-offs for the visitors in their 1-0 defeat on Sunday.
The FA has also asked Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas to explain his post-match comments to the media, in which he criticized the performance of Foy and his assistant referees.
Villas-Boas said Foy was “very, very poor” and that the officials “conceded to the crowd.”
Chelsea has until Friday to respond to the FA.
