Atletico Madrid need to rediscover their scoring form if they are not to fall even further off the pace in the Primera Division, starting against Real Mallorca.

Gregorio Manzono's side have failed to find the net in five of their seven league games so far this season, drawing a blank in their last three.

While they have won the other two matches 4-0, such inconsistency sees them head into the weekend in eighth place.

The capital club lost their last game 2-0 to Udinese in the Europa League as their winless run extended to five games in all competitions, while an injury to record signing Falcao, which could rule him out of the match against Mallorca, compounded their misery.

Forward Pizzi is looking to the Mallorca clash in a bid to break the team's poor run and said: "We do not like to lose but you have to look forward.

"We must continue working.

"We controlled the entire game (against Udinese) but we let in two goals at the end when we had everything in our favour."

Mallorca are just a point behind their hosts and are making a habit of scoring late goals with Tomer Hemed scoring an injury-time equaliser against Valencia last time out.

Defender Ivan Ramis claims his team intend to go to the Vicente Calderon Stadium "with the same intensity as they showed in the second half against Valencia".

He added: "They need to win but it will be difficult and if we can win the three points we will continue to draw away from the relegation zone."
