Cagliari vs Napoli preview - Ficcadenti only focused on Napoli

I have a say

Cagliari coach Massimo Ficcadenti insists his players are remaining grounded despite their solid start to the season and are only thinking of Sunday's game against Napoli.

The Sardinian outfit moved to third place after last weekend's goalless draw with Siena.

Cagliari have lost just once in six games and Ficcadenti says his players are not thinking about the standings but are just taking one game at a time.

"We haven't set ourselves any specific aims this season," Ficcadenti said. "We just want to play every game the best we can and take as many wins as possible.

"We've enjoyed a positive start to the campaign but we know the season is long and every game will be a challenge.

"We now face a big test against Napoli and we hope to get a good result in front of our home fans.

"We've played well at the Sant' Elia this season and we have yet to lose at home."

Napoli travel to Sardinia trailing one point behind Cagliari and on the back of an inspiring 1-1 midweek draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The outcome kept Napoli unbeaten in Europe and lifted the morale of Walter Mazzarri's men after last weekend's surprising 2-1 loss to Parma.

"It was an important result for us," Mazzarri said.

"Bayern are very strong and in the best of form.

"In the last 10 games Bayern have scored 25 goals and conceded just one, so that says a lot about the performance of my team against them."
