Livingston 1 :1 Greenock Morton - Russell is spot on for Livi
Posted Saturday, October 22, 2011 by PA
Iain Russell's first-half penalty earned Livingston a Scottish First Division point as they were held 1-1 by Morton.
The result means that Livi have now won only twice in 10 games in all competitions, but their long unbeaten home record remains intact.
The visitors took the lead after 15 minutes when Fouad Bachirou picked out David O'Brien to fire home.
The equaliser arrived in the 33rd minute when goalkeeper Matthew McGinley brought down Marc McNulty in the area, and Russell calmly stroked the penalty into the bottom corner for his 10th goal of the season.
The hosts almost found a winner in the 70th minute, but Stefan Scougall's shot from the edge of the area hit the post.
