Ayr Utd. vs Livingston preview - Reid looking up without Campbell
Posted Saturday, October 15, 2011 by PA
Ayr United will be without central defender Martyn Campbell when they take on Livingston.
Campbell is struggling with a knee injury, but manager Brain Reid has been boosted with news that John Robertson, Andy Geggan and Gareth Wardlaw have all been passed fit and will be included in the squad.
Both sides won promotion last season and Reid said: "We defeated Livingston at our place just over a year ago and I'd gladly settle for that result again.
"We've slipped to the bottom of the table and while that's disappointing we're strong at home and hopefully can pick up three points and that would move us up the way."
Livingston will include new signings Maurice Ross and Kevin Fotheringham in their squad.
Paperwork for the players' short-term deals has been completed and they could both start as the Lions look set to be without Cammy MacDonald and Keaghan Jacobs due to knocks.
Kyle Jacobs has recovered from the bang on the head he received at Hamilton last Sunday and will travel with the squad.
Livi boss Gary Bollan said: "We got turned over at Somerset Park a year ago so that's enough warning to me about how difficult this game will be.
"Ayr are very strong on their own patch so we'll need to fight for anything that we bring home with us."
