Benfica maintained its perfect home record with a comfortable 4-1 win against Pacos Ferreira to take a provisional lead of the Portuguese league on Saturday.
Javier Saviola opened the scoring for Benfica in the 21st and added a second from Bruno Cesar’s assist in the 43rd.
Michel’s penalty pulled a goal back for Pacos Ferreira in the 51st, but Luisao’s header in the 65th and Nolito’s goal two minutes later guaranteed the points for Benfica.
The win gave Benfica 17 points atop the standings, three ahead of Braga and Porto, which has gone 45 matches without losing in the domestic league.
Sunday’s matches include Porto’s visit to Academica and Braga’s match away to Leiria.
