Queen of South 0 : 0 Dundee - Dour draw for struggling duo
Posted Saturday, October 01, 2011 by PA
Queen of the South and Dundee both moved up a place after a dour 0-0 draw at Palmerston Park.
The two sides began the day as the bottom two, in ninth and 10th respectively, but both climbed above Ayr after they were thrashed at Ross County.
Dundee's Ross Chisholm was denied by home side goalkeeper Lee Robinson after a quarter of an hour and Robinson again had to be alert to deny Nicholas Riley 13 minutes later.
Nicky Clark fired over the bar for the hosts shortly before half-time and Robert Douglas dealt comfortably with Daniel Carmichael's shot from the edge of the area with 20 minutes left.
Ryan Conroy could have been the hero after coming off the bench, but the striker fired wide from six yards.
