Josh Falkingham's second-half equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for Arbroath at home to Cowdenbeath.

The visitors started brightly and almost took the lead through Greg Stewart on seven minutes, but his header went wide.

But they did not have to wait long to go in front, Thomas O'Brien firing home from close-range after Marc McKenzie's inswinging corner had caused problems in the Arbroath defence.

The home side grabbed their equaliser against the run of the play, Falkingham slotting in on 58 minutes from inside the box following Gavin Swankie's cross.

And Stuart Malcolm missed a great opportunity to win the game for Arbroath nine minutes from time, heading straight at Cowdenbeath goalkeeper Thomas Flynn from six yards out.
