Claudio Ranieri is Inter's mouthpiece for the Scudetto as he speaks of title ambitions ahead of its date against Napoli on Saturday evening at San Siro.
"This is a Scudetto clash. Napoli have improved, they are doing great things in the Champions League and they showed a winning mentality in Europe," he explained during a press conference on Friday. "In terms of Inter, I feel we are a title-winning team even if our position in the league suggests otherwise."
Serie A action resumes for the Milanese side this weekend following a good week in the Champions League, in which it beat CSKA Moscow 3-2. Napoli is no slouches having themselves won 2-0 against Villarreal in the same competition.
Ranieri feels the big game at San Siro could have an impact on how the season turns out for president Massimo Moratti's club.
"I am convinced the game against Napoli will be one for the title," said Ranieri. "We want to win because winning is good for the team. If Inter were feeling sick, then we need to keep taking medicine by winning."
Kick-off is at 15:45 p.m. ET and Inter is currently 16th in the league, while Napoli sit in fourth, one point behind joint-leaders Juventus and Udinese. Meanwhile, the latest news from Italy is that Inter striker Diego Milito has a calf problem, but he remains part of the matchday squad.
