Sneijder: Struggling with thigh injury and could be sidelined for a period of time

Inter Milan fear Wesley Sneijder could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines as his thigh injury is worse than first feared.

Sneijder missed the weekend win over Bologna with the problem and he has been ruled out of Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League clash at CSKA Moscow.

New Inter coach Claudio Ranieri admits he fears losing the influential playmaker for a lengthy period of time.

"Sneijder has not travelled to Moscow and this is a blow for us," admitted Ranieri.

"My fear is that we will lose him for some time because his injury seems more serious than what we first expected. We will wait to see what the doctors say."
