Siena 3 : 0 Lecce - Esposito off in Lecce loss

Siena were comfortable 3-0 winners as they stormed to their first victory of the season against 10-man Lecce in Tuscany.

Fresh off their battling performance that resulted in a 1-1 draw at Roma last Thursday, Siena got an early goal from Mattia Destro with Emanuele Calaio then adding the team's second in the 53rd minute.

Lecce's hopes of a comeback suffered a blow when defender Andrea Esposito was handed his marching orders shortly after the hour mark and Calaio scored his second with 20 minutes remaining.

Siena got off to a great start and took a sixth-minute lead when Destro got his head behind Gaetano D'Agostino's cross and his effort beat Lecce goalkeeper Julio Sergio.

Lecce had the first chance in the 20th minute.

Christian Obodo fed Daniele Corvia on the edge of the area and his shot was kept out by Siena goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic.

The visitors wasted a good chance to go in front midway through the fist half when an unmarked Andrea Bertolacci fired over the bar from a good position.

Siena doubled their lead early in the second half.

Destro fed Calaio inside the area and his eight-yard strike towards the far post beat Julio Sergio.

Esposito was then shown his second yellow card for a late tackle on Destro leaving his team a man down with 28 minutes left to play.

Siena took advantage of their numerical superiority and made it 3-0 soon after.

Calaio saw Julio Sergio off his line and struck the ball from 25 yards over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Lecce managed to avoid conceding any further goals in the final 19 minutes.
