Gasperini: Has paid the price for a slow start to the 2011/12 campaign
Gian Piero Gasperini has been sacked by Inter Milan just three games into the new Serie A season.
The Nerazzurri have taken drastic action after failing to pick up a win this term.
Inter have lost away at Palermo and Novara in the league, while they went down 1-0 at Trabzonspor in their opening fixture of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
They have also been held 0-0 at home by Roma this season and lost the Italian Super Cup to arch-rivals AC Milan in August.
Gasperini has paid the price for a slow start and leaves Giuseppe Meazza after just three months in charge.
Failed
He was a surprise choice to replace Leonardo over the summer, having previously coached at Crotone and Genoa.
He has failed to deliver the results expected of him during his short time at the club and Inter have now been placed in the temporary charge of assistants Giuseppe Baresi and Daniele Bernazzani.
Inter will now begin the search for their fourth coach since Jose Mourinho walked away from the club on the back of an historic Treble in 2010.
Rafa Benitez, Leonardo and now Gasperini have all come and gone, with all three failing to replicate the success enjoyed by Mourinho.
Reports suggest Inter may turn to former AC Milan and Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti or former Juventus and Roma chief Claudio Ranieri.
