Everton grabbed two late goals to beat Wigan 3-1 on Saturday for its first Premier League victory at home this season.

Substitute Apostolos Vellios scored in the 84th minute at Goodison Park and Royston Drenthe also came off the bench to score in injury time and complete an impressive comeback for Everton.

Wigan went ahead in the 31st after Franco di Santo’s angled shot deflected off Tony Hibbert and into the far corner.

Everton equalized within 97 seconds through two headers—Phil Jagielka headed in from close range after Tim Cahill’s attempt rebounded off the crossbar.

Everton is now unbeaten against Wigan in its last six games and moves to eighth place.
