East Fife 1 : 1 Brechin City - Lister denies East Fife
Posted Saturday, September 17, 2011 by PA
A James Lister strike meant Brechin prevented East Fife from lifting themselves off the bottom of the table in a 1-1 draw at the Bayview Stadium.
East Fife, who only have one league win this season, started well and went ahead through Ryan Wallace's composed finish from Steven Doris' pass.
Brechin rarely threatened The Fifers' goal, Craig Johnstone's free-kick being easily saved by Craig Nelson.
Their equaliser came against the run of play, when ten minutes into the second-half David McKenna slipped Lister through to slot home his first goal of the season.
The goal gave Brechin late confidence, but neither side pressed too hard for a winner, both seeming happy with a point.
