Ronaldo: Would consider move to Russia when he is 30
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he may play in Russia at some stage during his career.
The 26-year-old is currently in the third year of a six-year contract signed in July 2009 when he made a world-record £80million move from Manchester United.
Though traditionally not one of the major forces in European football, thanks to the backing of wealthy benefactors a number of Russian Premier League clubs are attracting some of the world's top stars.
Last month Samuel Eto'o moved from Inter Milan to Anzhi Makhachkala for a reported £21.8million and signed a contract believed to be worth a staggering £17.9million a year after tax.
When quizzed on whether Ronaldo would make a similar move at some stage in his career, the Portuguese refused to rule it out.
"Do you ask if I want to play in Russia when I'm over 30 ? Why not? I know that Russian football and the league gets stronger. I don't have anything against it to play in your country," Ronaldo told Sportbox.ru.
"In football you never know what happens to you the next day, so no-one should be surprised if I one day move to Russia.
"But apart from this I'm very satisfied with Real at the moment."
