Brechin City 0 - 1 Forfar Athletic - Forfar enjoy away-day win
Posted Saturday, September 10, 2011 by PA
Christopher Templeman scored Forfar's winner as they recorded their first away win of the season with a 1-0 victory at Brechin.
In a first half of few chances, the home side almost opened the scoring after 43 minutes when David McKenna's header came back off the post.
And with Forfar creating more in the second period, they were rewarded on the hour when Martyn Fotheringham's corner fell to Templeman who fired low into the net.
The hosts were reduced to 10 men when substitute Derek Carcary was dismissed for lashing out after a rash Christopher Hegarty challenge.
David McKenna almost snatched an injury-time equaliser for Brechin, but fired wide from the edge of the area as Forfar hung on.
