Cesc Fabregas has demonstrated to his Twitter followers why he left Arsenal for the lifestyle in Barcelona, as he enjoyed some red wine at a leisurely lunch date with his new team-mates.

The Barca new boy was in action for Spain against Chile on Friday night, but demonstrated on Saturday that he knows how to relax

He teased fans by tweeting: 'Just landed in madrid. A nice day off now. Ill send you guys a picture later! Take care!'

A few hours later, Fabregas kept his promise and posted a photo, together with the message: 'Having lunch with my friends.'

Those friends just happened to be a selection of World Cup-winning footballers - Andres Iniesta, Victor Valdes, Pedro and Sergio Busquets.

'Sure beats the hell out of breakfast with Bendtner, Lansbury and Squillaci,' one downcast, disconsolate Gooner exclaimed.

The Barcelona and Spain team-mates certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves, with wine glasses featuring more prominently on the table than bottles of water - something which isn't likely to have fitted in with Arsene Wenger's famously strict diet regime.

Fabregas and friends could be forgiven for thinking they deserved a drink, though, having fought back from a two-goal deficit at half-time to beat Chile 3-2 in Switzerland.

Iniesta scored Spain's first, before Fabregas found the target twice in the final 20 minutes.

The stars also showed there is more to their game than silky skills, by getting involved in a brawl with their opponents late in the game.
