Playing its first game since the fall of Moammar Gadhafi, Libya’s national soccer team beat Mozambique 1-0 Saturday in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Libyan players wore a new white jersey with the three colors of the pre-Gadhafi flag used by the rebels. Most of Libya’s players were from Benghazi, which fell to the rebels early in the uprising that began in February.

The game was moved to Egypt because of the fighting in Libya. There were no fans in the stadium because of security concerns.

The lone goal was scored by Rabie el-Lafi in the 30th minute. His shot into the far right corner came after a cross from Mohammed al-Mughrabi.

Libya has six points and is in second place in its group behind Zambia.
