AC Milan signed Italy international midfielder Antonio Nocerino from Palermo, the Italian champions said on Wednesday.
Despite chief executive Adriano Galliani claiming on Tuesday that Milan had finished their buying for the summer, they moved to strengthen the midfield with Frenchman Mathieu Flamini out injured for five months with a ruptured knee ligament.
Nocerino, who has been capped six times, signed a five-year deal although Milan didn't divulge the size of the transfer fee.
He joins other acquisitions Alberto Aquilani from Liverpool and defensive duo Philippe Mexes from Roma and Taye Taiwo from Marseille.
