JOLEON LESCOTT reckons dealing with around £130m worth of striker talent in training every day has helped make playing for England far less daunting.
Joleon Lescott has to handle the likes of Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli for his day job.
The amazing line-up of hitmen have helped mega-wealthy Manchester City storm to three straight wins in the Premier League, with 12 goals scored.
“You tend to get no easy days in training at City – Joe Hart (England and City keeper) gets worked pretty hard, I can tell you,” said Lescott, who is in contention to partner England skipper John Terry for Friday’s Euro 2012 qualfier.
“You’re not facing the same faces in training every day. I might be facing Edin one day and Mario the day after that and Carlos after that.
“You can’t afford to go into training and not put in 110 per cent. If you don’t, you’ll be exposed and that might be an excuse for the manager to leave you out.’’
Lescott admitted he was unlikely to have a clue whether he will be in the starting line-up against Bulgaria until the day of the game.
“I’ve tried second guessing the manager a few times and got it wrong, so I’ve had to give up on that!” he added.
