Kenwyne Jones has urged Tony Pulis to splash the cash and prevent Stoke’s European travellers from potential burnout.
Jones wants Pulis to bring in more signings before Wednesday’s deadline in a bid to help their squad cope with the extra pressure of Europa League games.
Stoke have reached the group stages of the competition, which means at least another six matches this season.
And Jones (right) fears the extra workload could stretch Pulis’ men to breaking point.
The Stoke chief is keen to recruit at least three new faces, with Spurs duo Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios on the radar, while Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega is also a target.
Jones, 26, who looks likely to start against West Brom this afternoon, said: “Of course we want players in. I think it’s impossible for the same team to play every game of the season.
“Especially when you have a tough campaign like us. We have a thin squad at the moment and this season we are going to have loads of games. We’ve got matches in Europe, cup games and of course the Premier League to consider.
“We’re going to need some rotation and hopefully the people at the club do eventually add some quality.
“We want to keep things fresh and the squad ticking over, so we need bodies in.”
And Jones wants to keep his side’s amazing record of only ONE defeat in their last 27 games against West Brom going today. He added: “We’ll do all we can.”
