Sporting draws 0-0 at Beira Mar in Portugal

LISBON, Portugal (AP)—Sporting Lisbon’s offseason overhaul is still to show results after drawing 0-0 at Beira Mar on Sunday for its second straight stalemate in the Portuguese league.
Despite a new coach and 14 new players, the Lisbon-based team has scored just one goal in two matches.
Elsewhere, Ederzito Macedo scored his second goal of the campaign as Academica won 1-0 over Rio Ave for its second consecutive victory.
Braga beat Maritimo 2-0 for its first win, while Pacos Ferreira downed Leiria 2-1.
Earlier, defending champion FC Porto won its second match thanks to Hulk’s double in a 3-1 comeback win against promoted Gil Vicente. Benfica beat promoted Feirense 3-1.
