Ross County manager Derek Adams has been left with only 16 available players for the visit of Queen of the South.

Defender Jonny Flynn is suspended and five players are expected to be ruled out through knocks.

Russell Duncan and Iain Vigurs have both picked up thigh injuries this week and join the trio of Darren McCormack, Sam Morrow and Garry Wood on the sidelines.

Adams said: "Darren, Sam and Garry are all close to comebacks but it would be a risk to use any of them so it looks like I will just have to go with the 16 available guys.

"This will be a really interesting game as both sides are looking to hit back after disappointing defeats last weekend."

Queen of the South welcome back defender Craig Reid from suspension.

Former Scotland midfielder Allan Johnston looks set to win his fitness race and be included in manager Gus McPherson's plans, however suspension makes Stephen McKenna and Kevin Smith unavailable.

Striker Marc McCusker is still not fit enough to make his debut with McPherson looking for his men to produce what they are capable of over an entire game and not just the opening half.

The Palmerston boss said: "We have been very good in the opening 45 minutes of both league games but not so good in the second. For a rebuilt side there are lots of good things happening but we need to do that consistently."
