Partick vs Hamilton preview - Duo set to boost Partick
Posted Saturday, August 20, 2011 by PA
Bottom-of-the-table Partick are hopeful of having winger Neil McCann and striker Tam McManus in their squad for their match against Hamilton Accies.
Defender Willie Kinniburgh has been ruled out with a hip injury and striker Martin Grehan has left the club by mutual consent.
Firhill manager Jackie McNamara said: "It would be good to have two new players in our squad, although nothing has been sorted as yet. Our performances have been okay but we just need a bit more to get us over the finishing line in terms of winning games.
"Hamilton beat us in a cup tie recently, however I would imagine both sides will field different personnel this time out."
Hamilton manager Billy Reid is again without midfield stalwart Alex Neil.
Reid said: "We set a high standard against Ross County last week when we defeated then 5-1 and I want the same level of performance in this game.
"Thistle will be looking to get their season going and pay us back for the cup result and I want us to keep our good start going so it should be a good game.
"There was only a late penalty between us in the last meeting and I do not expect there to be much more this time."
