Scott Sinclair is desperate to show former club Chelsea they were wrong to dump him.

Sinclair was tipped to be an England star in the making after being poached from Bristol Rovers as a teenager.

But he only made a dozen appearances in his three-year stint at Stamford Bridge and spent his time living out of a suitcase during a series of loan moves.

Sinclair finally had enough and dropped down a division to sign for Swansea in a bargain £1m deal last summer.

The winger hasn’t looked back after firing 27 goals – including a hat-trick in the play-off final against Reading – during the Welsh side’s shock promotion triumph.

Now back in the spotlight, Sinclair has urged up-and-coming fringe players to follow in his footsteps and move on for the sake of their careers.

The 22-year-old said: “I needed to leave and I would urge other players to do the same in a similar position.

“You can be at Chelsea with the best players in the world, but there’s only so much you can learn from the outside.

“It was frustrating that you had to be established to get a game at Chelsea.

“Now I want to show Chelsea they were wrong in letting me leave.”
