Maurice Edu scores and sees a red card during an entertaining afternoon.
Edu's Rangers dominated proceedings against Inverness Caledonian Thistle but needed the help of two penalty-kick decisions given by referee Euan Norris to secure three points with a 2-0 win at Caledonian Stadium on Saturday.
Nikica Jelavic scored Rangers' first goal.
Edu's goal came after Inverness' Ross Tokely saw red for chopping down Steven Naismith, with Nikica Jelavic dispatching the resulting penalty, before Tom Aldred was adjudged to have brought down Jelavic near the edge of the area.
Jelavic stepped up again only to be denied by goalkeeper Ryan Esson, but Edu was on hand to tap in the rebound and double the away side's advantage. Edu later received his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards.
A late challenge from Edu left referee Norris no choice but to award the American midfielder his second yellow card, but Rangers was able to comfortably see the game out and take itself to the top of the Scottish Premier League.
