La Volpe resigns as Costa Rica coach

SAN JOSE, Much-traveled Ricardo La Volpe has resigned as Costa Rica coach after just over eight months in charge.
La Volpe took over in November and is rumored to be headed to Mexican club Estudiantes Tecos.
The Argentina-born La Volpe announced his resignation late Friday, saying he was not communicating well with his players.
La Volpe coached Mexico to the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and he has also coached a dozen clubs in Mexico and Argentina.
Ronald Gonzalez, the coach of Costa Rica Under-20s, has been mentioned as a possible successor.
