There are several media reports that Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane is joining Major League Soccer’s L.A. Galaxy on a two-year deal.
In doing so, he would be joining a star-studded Galaxy team that includes David Beckham and U.S. international Landon Donovan.
FoxSoccer.com reports that Keane is on his way to L.A., where he will undergo a physical ahead of signing a two-year, $8 million contract.
Keane has already admitted that he expects his future doesn’t include the Spurs.
The 31-year-old striker has also appeared for Coventry City (England), Internazionale (Italy), Leeds United (England) and Liverpool (England) during a professional career that started in 1997.
Keane scored a career high 23 goals (54 appearances) for Tottenham in 2007-08 before moving to Liverpool. After half a season at Anfield, Keane transferred back to White Hart Lane, where he has been unable to recapture a place in the team under manager Harry Redknapp.
Apparently to make room for Keane, the Galaxy are expected to trade or release former Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel.
