Arsenal has confirmed an agreement has been reached over the transfer of Costa Rica starlet Joel Campbell.

The 19-year-old striker was a part of Costa Rica's Gold Cup squad this summer, and also appeared for his country in the Under-20 World Cup, scoring two goals in four games.

Goal.com revealed last month that the Gunners had agreed a €1.4 million fee with his club Deportivo Saprissa, despite being the subject of interest from a host of European clubs.

The EPL outfit have confirmed the transfer is subject to 'completion of formal agreements and processes'.

“Joel Campbell has already shown that he is a player with great ability, and has also performed well on the international stage at a young age," Arsene Wenger told the club's official website. "We look forward to the formalities of the transfer being completed and working with Joel when he joins us at Arsenal."
