Morton vs Livingston preview - Smyth doubt for Morton
Posted Saturday, August 13, 2011 by PA
Morton defender Marc Smyth is a major doubt through injury for the clash with Livingston.
Summer signing Andy Graham remains out after surgery on a fractured cheekbone and winger Sean Fitzharris is still not available to manager Allan Moore because of a hamstring problem.
The two sides have scored 34 goals between them already this season.
Moore said: "Everyone will be anticipating a high-scoring game and I do not mind if it - is provided we score one more than they do.
"It may not work out that way as both sides have quite good defences and while our goalscorers have been getting all the attention we have had four shut-outs in a row and it would be great to make that five."
Livingston manager Gary Bollan is giving striker Iain Russell until the last minute to prove he is 100% fit to face his former side at Cappielow.
If Russell fails to make it Bollan will turn to either Kenny Deuchar or Rory Boulding.
He said: "Iain is carrying a slight knock and he will only play if he is totally fit.
"Kenny came in and scored in midweek and Rory has done well since joining, so we are quite fortunate to have a number of good strikers at this club.
"People will expecting goals aplenty in this game after the way both sides have started the season and hopefully they will get them especially from Livingston."
