Stenhousemuir vs Arbroath preview - Plenderleith blow for Stenny
Posted Saturday, August 13, 2011 by PA
Stenhousemuir will be without Grant Plenderleith when Arbroath visit Ochilview.
The young midfielder is starting a four-game ban incurred when he was on-loan last season at junior side Bo'ness.
Goalkeeper Ally Brown will not feature due to a thigh knock and centre-half Ross McMillan is a doubt.
The Warriors are out to make up for a disappointing start to their season at Brechin last Saturday, with assistant manager Kevin McGoldrick saying: "We had an opportunity to win last week at Glebe Park and never took it.
"We want our season to get going now and the players have been asked to make it happen, as if we stand off Arbroath, they have players that can hurt us."
Arbroath are without striker Steven Doris as he completes the final game of his two-match ban.
Australian defender Beau Busch is set to feature after missing out last weekend through injury, however Kieran McAnespie and Jordan Elverson are both facing a race against time to feature.
Gayfield boss Paul Sheerin is warning his men to be wary and said: "Everyone is desperate to do well in their home games so I expect Stenhousemuir to really come at us in this game.
"After meeting Albion Rovers, who were in the Third Division with us last season, this is our first game against an established Second Division side so I am looking forward to seeing how we match up."
