Pique, Busquets doubts for Supercup

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has strained his right hamstring and is a doubt for the first leg of the Spanish Supercup against Real Madrid on Sunday.

The 24-year-old limped off the pitch clutching the back of his thigh near the end of the first half of Spain's 2-1 loss to Italy in a friendly on Wednesday in the southern Italian city of Bari.

"Pique has a strained hamstring in his right leg. The development of the injury will determine his availability on Sunday," Barcelona said on its website.

His replacement during Spain's match against Italy, Sergio Busquets, has a bruised rib on his right side and is also in doubt for the match, it added.

The second leg of the Spanish Supercup will be played at Barcelona's Camp Nou Stadium on 17 August.
