SAFE HANDS ... Joe Hart has been in sizzling form
JOE HART has been rewarded for a stunning season with Manchester City and England with a five-year deal worth £25MILLION.
Hart, 24, put pen to paper on a new contract that will more than treble his pay to £100,000 a week. But even then his wage packet is still way behind the biggest earners at the Etihad Stadium.
The likes of Carlos Tevez pocket £250,000 a week but Hart's pay rise brackets him with City's highest-paid English players like Gareth Barry.
Hart, who faces arch rivals United in the Community Shield tomorrow, started last season battling for the No 1 jersey with Shay Given but soon established himself as first choice for City and the Three Lions. Last season he kept a league-leading 18 clean sheets and helped City to their first major trophy in 35 years with victory in the FA Cup final.
Last night, Roberto Mancini made his fourth summer signing at City when he snapped up Romanian international keeper Costel Pantilimon.
The 24-year-old caught the City boss' eye in their Europa League clash with FC Timisoara.
Pantilimon is awaiting a work permit but will join Mancini's squad as back up to Hart following the £3.5m sale of Given to Aston Villa.
