Harry Redknapp drops bid for Giuseppe Rossi

HARRY REDKNAPP has been forced to abandon his bid to prise £30million Giuseppe Rossi away from Villarreal.
The Spurs boss wanted the former Manchester United marksman as part of a re-shaped strike force. But Rossi, 24, is staying in Spain after being taken off the transfer list.
Villarreal went into the summer eager to off-load the Italy international striker to ease their mounting financial worries.
But, after selling star winger Santi Cazorla, 26, to big-spending Spanish rivals Malaga, they no longer need to cash in on Rossi.
