Injury blow for Afellay - Midfielder likely to miss out on start of new season
Afellay: Set to be sidelined

Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay is set to be sidelined for up to five weeks after suffering a hamstring tear during his side's defeat to Manchester United.

The Holland international sustained the injury just before half-time in the 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat to United in Washington and was replaced by Isaac Cuenca.

The 25-year-old Afellay is likely to be out for between "four to five weeks", according to the club's official website.

That would mean he would miss next month's Spanish Super Cup against fierce rivals Real Madrid.

He would also be unavailable of the Uefa Super Cup against Porto and the start of the new Primera Division season.
