SIR ALEX FERGUSON insists he has no fears about Javier Hernandez’s health despite claims the striking sensation has a long-standing brain condition.

‘Little Pea’ is recovering from concussion after collapsing on Tuesday during a team meal and being sick after being struck on the head with a ball in training.

He was taken to hospital in New York and had MRI scans before being discharged the following day.

But it emerged last night that the Manchester United star has suffered from a brain problem since being a teenager, which included severe headaches.

The doctor from his former club Chivas in Mexico, Dr Rafael Ortega, said: “As a youth player he suffered from acute migraines. We had some studies done on him but that was six years ago and he has done well since.

“I’m sure United will send him to a specialist and the situation will be resolved.”

Hernandez, 23, will be sidelined for at least two weeks.

He was unable to fly to Washington with the rest of the squad yesterday and had to be driven on the 300-mile trip instead.

Boss Fergie said: “I’m not aware of any problem. This is a straightforward concussion.

“He was hit on the top of the head with the ball in the early evening.

“When he was back at the hotel taking his meal he felt sick and he was sick.

“He had headaches so we removed him to the hospital where he stayed in overnight.

“They did the MRI scans and that was all clear.

“We’ll give Chicharito plenty of time. We won’t be rushing him back.

“I’ll only bring him back when the doctor tells me I can.”

Fergie visited the White House but didn’t get to meet US President Barack Obama because he was too busy.

United play massive rivals Barcelona in the capital tomorrow.

Ferguson added: “Their performances and feats over the last two or three years have elevated them in everyone’s mind to being the best team currently in the world.

“I’m quite happy to be second place at this moment in time.

“Our challenge is to get to that level.”

Barca were ordered to leave the White House yesterday after trying to hold a training session in the grounds!
