ATHENS (AFP) - Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has signed a two-year contract with AEK Athens, the Greek Cup winners announced on Tuesday.

AEK did not reveal details of the contract but local press reports said the Icelandic star would be receiving 650,000 euros yearly, not including bonuses.

Gudjohnsen, 32, began his career with PSV Eindhoven in 1995 helping the team win the Dutch domestic double before moving on to English Prmier League side Bolton Wanderers in 1998.

From 2000 to 2006 he played for Chelsea helping them to the English league title in 2005 and 2006.

The next three seasons Gudjohnsen played for Barcelona and was a member of the 2009 squad which won the Spanish double and the Champions League.

For the last two seasons he has played six months each for Monaco, Tottenham, Stoke City and Fulham.

Gudjohnsen is the top scorer for the Icelandic national team with 24 goals in 67 matches.
