SOCHAUX, France (AFP) - Sochaux's French international midfielder Marvin Martin confirmed on Tuesday that he hopes to secure a transfer away from the Ligue 1 club.
"I would like to leave," Martin, who scored a double in a 4-1 win over Ukraine on his international debut last month, told AFP.
Martin, 23, who is under contract with Sochaux until 2014, also said that he hopes the club's president Alexandre Lacombe will agree to let him go should he receive an acceptable offer.
Lacombe had previously said that Martin, who was the inspiration behind Sochaux's fine 2010/11 season, in which they finished fifth in the French top flight, was "not for sale at any price".
The French game's major clubs are believed to be queueing up to sign Martin, with Paris Saint-Germain, Lille, Lyon and Marseille all credited with an interest.
