BERLIN (AFP) - Hamburg and Rosenborg announced on Friday that they had reached an agreement for the Norwegian club's playmaker Per Ciljan Skjelbred to join the German side in August.

The 24-year-old, who has 17 caps, agreed to join Hamburg earlier this month but was not due to move to Germany until January 2012 as Rosenborg wished to retain his services for the Champions League qualifying rounds.

However, with Rosenborg 5-0 up against Icelandic outfit Breidablik after the first leg of their second qualifying round match, the Norwegian side have agreed to release Skjelbred early.

He will join Hamburg on a three-year contract.
