BERLIN (AFP) - German league side Schalke 04 have said they are willing to help accommodate FC Twente if the Dutch league runners-up need a new ground after their stadium roof collapsed last week.
A large section of the roof at FC Twente's De Grolsch Veste Stadium collapsed last Thursday, killing two construction workers and injuring 16 others.
According to reports in the German media, the Dutch side are considering playing their Champions League games next season at Schalke's Veltins Arena, which is just over an hour from Enschede, where Twente is based.
"If a request comes in, we would try to implement it and help them," Schalke manager Peter Peters told German daily the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung.
