Mexico defeat Ecuador in football friendly

QUITO (AFP) - A Mexico select, comprised mainly of under-22 year-old players, defeated Ecuador 1-0 here on Saturday in a final preparation match for the Copa America which gets underway in Argentina on Friday.
The winning goal came from Marco Fabian after 73 minutes.
The full Mexican side were playing in the Gold Cup final in California where they defeated the United States 4-2 in the final.
Mexico are in the same group as Uruguay, Chile and Peru for the Copa America which runs from July 1-24, while Ecuador go up against Brazil, Paraguay and Venezuela.
