SAINT-ETIENNE, France (AFP) - Much-travelled French striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle is to sign on loan for Ligue 1 side St Etienne from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, the French club announced.
The 26-year-old - capped once - will undergo a medical on Monday and if he passes it he will sign a year long loan, with St Etienne having the option to buy him at the end of that spell.
Sinama-Pongolle would be joining his eighth club, having come through the youth academy at Le Havre.
Liverpool snapped him up from Le Havre in 2003 and he spent four years there including a loan spell at English rivals Blackburn Rovers.
He has subsequently played for Spanish outfits Recreativo Huelva (2006-2008), then Atletico Madrid (June 2008 - January 2010) before signing for Sporting Lisbon.
They loaned him out last season to Spanish side Real Zaragoza.
