To add to Cheryl's woes, the news she spent a night with Ashley, 30, in their old marital home after being dumped from US X Factor threatens her career.
They did not sleep together. But her manager, Black-Eyed Peas star Will.i.am, is furious that she is again linked to the man whose affairs brought about their divorce last year. A friend said: "She is blinded by the hope of a future with Ashley. Her mum has told her there's nothing more she can do. And Will.i.am is demanding to know what's going on.
