2011 Women’s World Cup venue guide: Bochum

Germany has the honor of hosting the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup giving women all over the globe the opportunity to share their football talents with the world. The event will take place from June 26, 2011 to July 17, 2011 in nine cities across Germany to determine the Women's World Cup champion.
The City:
The city of Bochum has history that dates back to the Stone Age while it is officially over 687 years old. It has a current population of over 374,000 and is known as a mining community. It is home to Ruhr University with over 33,000 students attending making it one of the largest in the country.
The Stadium:
Ruhrstadion also known as rewirpowerSTADION and is home to VfB Bochum. It has a seating capacity of 29,448. The stadium was originally built in 1926 and went through major renovations in 2006. Some minor renovations recently took place in preparation for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. rewirpowerSTADION will host four matches during group play.

Match 3: June 27, 2011 3:00pm Japan v. New Zealand (Group B)
Match 10: June 30, 2011 6:00pm Canada v. France (Group A)
Match 16: July 3, 2011 2:00pm Australia v. Equatorial Guinea (Group D)
Match 22: July 6, 2011 8:45pm Korea DPR v. Columbia (Group C)
